Developing Lake Charles

Recent & Upcoming Developments in the Downtown Area of Lake Charles

Lake Charles downtown is growing and developing at a fast rate! We all know about the progress of the apartments coming to the downtown area early next year and what it means for our downtown area.

ZephyrsBut did you know that the old Luna Live is now Zephyr’s? Their grand opening is this Friday December 14th with live entertainment from the Tugboats @ 9pm. I hear they have 41 draft tap beer choices with a little bit of everything, keeping it local of course is important to them – so you’ll find some of your local favorites there. They serve domestic beer to some of the rarest beer around so if you enjoy a good brew you might want to start sampling some, they have on tap soon. It would take over a month to get through the list if you sampled one a day! They also will have wine and mixed drinks on tap as well. I also hear there will be food on the menu as well to include New York style pizza and wings. They will also have some exciting entertainment lined up as well, starting with a local lineup of course! Sounds like Fridays may be a good day for anyone looking for boiled crawfish and Cajun music … what’s better than boiled crawfish and a two step to a good Cajun band?

They will be located in the old Sloppy’s Downtown at 331 Broad Street (many years ago formerly the old Rikenjaks location), did I mention that it is the same owners of the Rikenjaks of the current location on Ryan Street that will be opening this place? Well, that should give you a good indication that it’s going to be a happening place on the downtown scene. Look forward to them to open on New Years Eve with some great entertainment, from what I hear! They will have a menu that includes what Jay Ecker referred to as “Pub Grub” that I myself look forward to checking out! They will also offer a private party area and of course music! Be prepared for this to be one of your new favorite destinations in the area. When it comes to music and entertainment with drinks and food, expect the Panorama Music House to have it all!

Scott Daley opened for business a few months ago and is planning on a grand opening sometime in January 2019. They are currently open for business as they work on the upstairs level of the building. They are also planning on holding amateur and professional boxing events at the location when all of the renovations are complete, this will be bringing more business to the downtown night venues as well. Look for Daley’s to bring professional and amateur boxing back to the Lake Charles area in 2019 as the Daley family has done for many generations.
